Diana Gabaldon & The Surrey International Writers Conference

I met Diana Gabaldon in the year 2000 at the Surry International Writers Conference.

I went to the Surrey Writer’s Conference in 2000, when I began my writing career. I took a class with Diana Gabaldon, author of the Outlander series who taught me a great deal about research. I learned that you don’t have to go to the location of your story to write a book about a place.

Bestselling Author, Jack Whyte

I also met Jack Whyte, author of the Camulod Chronicles as I have a book in the works about the Cathars of France. I was able to talk about my ideas with him and received some helpful advice.
